The main objective of the In Agro Salute project is the development of the resources necessary to raise the general public’s awareness of the importance of agricultural activities in the territories of Navarre, Aquitane, and the Basque Country. The agrarian sector is a key factor in these territories.

The objectives of the In Agro Salute project are:

  • Integral development of the resources necessary to raise the general public’s awareness of the importance of agricultural activities in the territories of Navarre, Aquitane, and the Basque Country.
  • Placement of the agrarian sector as a key economic factor in these territories and appreciation of its contributions to the rest of the society.
  • Improvement of public perception of agrarian activies, the professionals involved, and the quality of the products.
  • Increased awareness of and more information available to the public about agricultural issues: its historical evolution, its role en society, the variety of crops and products available, the elaboration of products from the field to the table, the availablility of high quality products, agritourism in this area.
  • Stimulation of the agrarian sector by offering the professions resources and encouraging diversification of agrarian activites via the promotion of high quality regional products and agritourism.
  • Promotion of a package of high quality products and agritourism within the three territories, opening up the marketing channels of each member territory to this package of food and tourism products.
  • Use of the previous experiences in each of the three member territories to jointly establish an ambitious media campaign seeking synergies in the partnership.

Moreover, in Navarre and Aguitaine resource centers will be developed with a dual role: to raise public awareness of farming and to boose the primary sector in the area.

The project plans joint awareness campaigns for the three territories built around two axes:

  • Promotion of farming activies in the territories oriented toward school groups and the general public via communication tools, both generic and specific, and oriented toward the farming professionales via exchange workshops and professional development days.
  • Promotion of local products and agritourism via web pages, catalogues, and product information sheets; producer exchanges; healthy eating campaigns; three joint retail outlets, awareness- building events, gastronomic and cooking contests…

The objectives of the project will be developed vía four different actions:

  • Action 1: Coordination. Effective, dependable coordination between the consortium members will enable us to reach our goals.
  • Action 2: Creation of networked resource centers. Development of resource centers for the promotion of agrarian activites and awareness-building.
  • Action 3: Joint campaigns to promote agrarian activites. Development of joint publicity campaigns to promote the agrarian activities in the area oriented toward different target groups.
  • Action 4: Promotion and marketing of local products and agritourism. Development of joint marketing activites to promote local, high-quality products and the agritourism opportunities in the area.
